Room treatment on a $0 budget — what actually worked

No money for panels yet. I moved my desk, hung two moving blankets behind the mic, and put a rug down. Night and day on my vocal recordings. Anyone else tried the blanket trick?

Try a touch of parallel compression on the vocal bus — brings up the intimate detail without squashing transients. And automate the reverb so verses stay dry.
